Our Facilty
Expertise at our farm
The 160 acre farm is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week by experienced employees, including a licensed Veterinarian and Veterinarian Technician. We provide personalized care with over 175 years of combined experience.
Technology
Our facility is equipped with a blood centrifuge and a fully automated blood analyzer with fibrinogen levels, providing comprehensive results within 15 minutes. We also have a complete in-house pharmacy.
Our modern reproduction facility includes an automated semen analyzer, semen centrifuge and an ultrasound machine.
USDA Approved
USDA Approved facility to freeze semen for international export.
Stallion Services
Collection Training
Our experienced staff has the knowledge and patience to train both first time young stallions and mature stallions who have only live bred mares to collect off the phantom mare.
Semen Collection
Our fully equipped modern reproduction facility includes an automated semen analyzer and centrifuge. With this technology we are able to collect, evaluate, ship and freeze semen from your stallion. We have been successful at achieving conceptions with sub-fertile stallions.
Fertility Exams
Once the sample has been collected, we will analyze a raw specimen then process it by centrifugation then removing seminal plasma. The sample will be resuspended in a medium at an optimum concentration for cooling. The evaluation process will check motility every 24 hours for up to 120 hours and generate a comprehensive report. The sample will be analyzed by the QwikCheck Gold Equine Sperm Analyzer generating an unbiased fertility report.
The QwikCheck Sperm Analyzer provides data such as concentration, total number of cells, both total and progressive motility, morphology and velocity. The QwikCheck Sperm Analyzer has the ability to analyze raw, extended and cooled samples.
Shipping Semen
Once your stallion is collected, the sample will be processed as per fertility evaluation protocol above and packaged to be shipped anywhere in the continental US. We use Equine Express disposable shippers to better preserve the specimen for a more efficient and prolonged cooling rate. We offer priority overnight shipping though both UPS and FedEx as well as same day counter to counter shipments.
Freezing Semen
We have the knowledge and experience to collect your stallion, process and freeze the sample to preserve your stallion’s valuable genetic material indefinitely.
Frozen Semen Storage
We offer frozen semen storage. Our tanks are measured and monitored on a weekly basis and topped off with liquid nitrogen as needed.
USDA Freezing Semen for International Export
Our USDA Approved facility can quarantine your stallion, preform the required testing and freeze samples for international export. We can manage all your international shipping needs.
Mare Services
Breeding
We can assist you with all of your breeding needs. Mares are checked via ultrasound assisted rectal palpation for heat cycles and pregnancy detection. We have the ability to perform all mare reproductive diagnostics such as, uterine culture and sensitivity, biopsy, caslick and hormone therapy on farm. Certified Veterinarian, Veterinary Technician and Certified Artificial Insemination Technician on staff.
Conception rate consistently in the 90% range for on-site mares.
Embryo Transfer Program
Over 150 foals have been born via our on-site embryo transfer program with an 80% embryo recovery rate and above industry average transplant survival rate.
We have the ability to transplant on farm, use one of your own mares as a recipient or transport the embryo to a recipient mare farm of your choice.
Foaling
Our nursery is bedded in straw and staffed with experienced attendants 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Mares are monitored and assisted during foaling and postpartum care is administered to the foal. The foal is examined by our certified Veterinarian. An IgG test is performed to ensure adequate immunity and we have the ability to do an insurance exam and to get your precious foal insured at 24 hours of age.
Boarding
Pasture Boarding
Pasture boarding offers top quality free choice coastal hay. Horses are fed Purina products twice daily. We also feed Strongid C 2X as a parasite control and Solitude IGR as an insect growth regulator to keep the fly population to a minimum. Our pastures are safe with 4-foot pipe fence and no-climb horse wire. We manage our pasture through seeding in the spring with Texas native grass blend and winter rye in the fall, we also spray for weed control.
Show Barn Stall Boarding
Spacious and safe stalls with abundant quality bedding thoroughly cleaned 6 days per week. Personalized care in a lavish setting. Daily turnouts with a small group of horses and monitoring by experienced staff. Daily grooming, weekly bathing and clipping included. Blanketing service available.

Mare Care Stall Boarding
Spacious and safe stalls with abundant quality bedding thoroughly cleaned 6 days per week. Able to handle all of your mare and foal needs. Daily turnouts and monitoring by experienced staff. Grooming included.

Farrier Services
Certified farrier on-site for all your hoof care needs. Drop off services available with an appointment.
Conditioning and Showing
RCES is proud to offer conditioning and preparation to get your horse fitted for the next competition. Fitting, schooling, clipping and transporting to regional horse shows available.
